Physical Therapy Oakland
Feel Better, Move better
Improve Resilience
The Opus Approach:
Modern medicine too often focuses just on symptom management using pain medication or passive modalities that lead to short term fixes but not long term solutions. At Opus, we believe in a more active approach to getting out of pain. Using principles of physical therapy, modern pain science, and strength and conditioning training, we develop carefully crafted rehab plans that target your specific issues and goals. Whether you’re learning to walk again after an ACL repair or returning to Crossfit workouts without pain, our clinicians are here to help you get there. Rated as the top physical therapy in Oakland by Oakland Magazine, our physical therapists utilize expert manual therapy and movement re-education that is designed to reduce pain, improve mobility and function, and build resilience to prevent future injuries.

Anyone who has pain, an injury, movement limitations, or a physical condition that affects their ability to perform daily activities or participate in sports can benefit from physical therapy. For specific questions, call and speak with our expert therapists.
-
In short - no. We are an out-of-network provider. This means that we do not accept insurance as it limits the quality of care we can provide. The traditional insurance model leads to short visits, double booking, and being passed around to assistants and aides. At Opus, we provide 1-on-1, 60 minute treatments with your physical therapist. This means a faster recovery, consistency in progress, saving you money and time in the long run. Patients can submit claims directly to their insurance and may be eligible for reimbursement based on individual plans. Superbills can also be provided upon request.
-
We treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries, ACL reconstructions, Achilles repair, joint replacement, chronic pain, postural issues, lower back pain, mobility limitations, vertigo, and more.
-
Your 60 minute assessment will include your physical therapist taking a comprehensive history, followed by a physical examination of your movement patterns, area of complaint and any related sites. Please wear clothing that allows for movement and easy access to the area(s) of concern. This is followed by an explanation of your injury/pain and a detailed plan and timeline for how we’ll work towards your goals. Treatment is includes with a combination of hands-on manual therapy and corrective exercises to address your specific impairments.

Yes! Our mission is to keep you healthy and active for a lifetime. To do that, we believe consistency and continuity is the key. We prioritize that by scheduling you with the same therapist each session. (Very occasionally if there are scheduling conflicts, we’ll give you the option to see another PT, but this is rare and always the patient’s choice.)
